To support Public Health in European member states, ECDC project Impact of Climate Change on Food- and Water-borne Diseases in Europe developed a tool based on mathematical models. This decision-making tool for Food and Waterborne Diseases is based on quantitative microbial risk assessment (QMRA) that describes each hazard in a compartmental mathematical framework. The combination of these compartments aims to quantify the microbial risk associated under local parameters and climate scenarios. This tool supports the risk assessment of the impact of climate change on health in accordance with the White Paper on Climate Change Adaptation. More information on the ECDC quantitative microbial risk assessment (QMRA) tool is available in the Technical report.
